How Often Should You Detail Your Car?

There’s no universal schedule for car detailing, but most experts agree: you should get a full professional detail depending on driving conditions. This is to keep your car in top shape.
But how often you should detail your car depends on how you use it.
Daily drivers exposed to pollution, rain, or salty roads might need detailing every 2–3 months.
Garage-kept vehicles or weekend cruisers may only need detailing twice a year.
Drivers with pets, kids, or long commutes might want interior details more often to handle spills, crumbs, and odors.
Climate also plays a role. Cold winters and hot summers can be rough on your paint and interior. Spring and fall are great times to get a detail—spring to recover from winter’s road salt, and fall to prepare your car for harsh weather.
In between details, keep your vehicle clean with regular washes, vacuuming, and wiping down surfaces. This makes each professional detail more effective and less expensive.
